Shrek is an ogre who lives in a swamp. One day he meets Donkey, a donkey who talked incessantly, and together they embark on an adventure to rescue Princess Fiona from a castle guarded by a dragon. Shrek and donkey managed to rescue the princess and begin a friendship. One night, Donkey go to see the princess but is at an ogre, who confesses he is Fiona in the power of a spell and only the kiss of her true love would take the form of it. Through a misunderstanding Shrek and Fiona are offended by the leaves from his castle. Shrek Donkey convinces that is wrong and finally finds Shrek Fiona in the castle, declaring undying love and lived forever ugly.
